About the Department:
The Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water (DRMDW) drives growth for Queensland by managing sustainable water resources, leading innovation in manufacturing, and developing our regions. From our offices in Brisbane and a network of regional offices and manufacturing hubs, more than 700 DRDMW staff work to create a Queensland where communities, businesses and water resources are sustainable and resilient.
The Role:
The Strategic Coordination & Economics (SCE) team provides advice and implementation of economic and financial policies related to water supply across Queensland.
Responsibilities of this role in the SCE team includes to:
• Develop and review models and databases to estimate and analyse costs, prices, bills, funding and subsidies to inform policy development and policy implementation .
• Provide accurate, tailored and timely advice to various audiences on the results of your modelling or review of external models.
• Develop an understanding of best practice principles related to pricing, governance, and business case assessment of water infrastructure across Queensland.
• Assist with the drafting of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, correspondence and other communications.
About You:
• A degree is mandatory for this role. Degrees in Economics, Commerce, Finance or similar would be preferred however please consider applying even if your degree is outside these areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to present, analyse and model data using Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Powerpoint to inform policy development, policy implementation and briefings.
• Ability to use Power Bi would be highly regarded.
