About Great River City Light Rail

Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer. The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of light rail stops.

The role

Reporting to the Senior Rollingstock Manager and supporting the broader Assets team this role will focus on detailed investigation, analysis and diagnosis as part of any technical changes to assets. This is a critical role to the business and supports the team in trouble shooting, fault finding and overall asset improvement.

What you bring

In addition to your formal qualifications (mechanical, electrical, or related), your background will include maintenance of light rail / heavy rail rolling stock. This will include a sound understanding of maintenance processes and techniques, supported by a passion for analysis and investigation. Your rolling stock experience will include exposure to technical specifications, standards and experience in interpretating analysis for maintenance planning.
