Culinary Wonderland is the brilliant creation of two world-renowned, multi-hatted chefs and a tech guru who had a vision to deliver decades of passion, experience and culinary excellence for anyone, anywhere. This digital wonderland features a wealth of recipes, restaurant recommendations and wine pairings and content from our continuously growing network of over 100+ culinary experts including some of the best chefs in the world. We have been working with an agency so far but are ready to build our founding engineering team to give our product a reskin and take Culinary Wonderland to the next level
About The Role
We are looking for a Sydney based full stack to join us as a founding member and become part of the core team of engineers and senior leaders at CW. You will translate creative software design concepts and ideas into reality, and be responsible for developing, architecting and building the entire system from infrastructure to css. You will also:
- Take business requirements, and turn them into code (we work agile)
- Web: Implement frontend requirements using React/Next.js, tailwind css
- Mobile: building our mobile app in react-native
- Infra: hosting and managing our infra on AWS using Terraform
- CI/CD: GitHub actions
- API layer: Rest / GraphQL
- Ensure projects are delivered on scope, on budget and on time;
- Stay on top of the latest trends and technology developments.
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the Culinary Wonderland offices.
About You
You must be a full stack guru. You will be highly proficient in React/Next JS, React Native Mobile, Java, AWS knowledge and DevOps - CI/CD pipeline (AWS EKS Kubernetes is a bonus). Experience with Terraform, Mongo DB, Magento/Shopify and Segment CDP would be highly beneficial but not a requirement to apply.
You will be a self starter with a can do attitude, who won’t need to be micromanaged. You will have a passion for doing things properly, not taking no for an answer, and understand that sometimes that means breaking something in order to fix it.
You will be up to date with the latest and best practices in web development. Rest assured that in our eyes, years of experience don’t automatically dictate your suitability for the role (we will decide that for ourselves in a code test).
