The Energy Solutions Manager is accountable for leading and managing CS Energy’s growing Retail Structured Products offering. This is a critical role in driving the growth and expansion of CS Energy’s Behind the Meter (BtM) strategy by identifying and capitalising on business opportunities that align with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
The purpose of the Energy Solutions Manager is to develop, document, implement and monitor strategies to achieve sales and revenue targets in the Retail C&I segment, with particular focus on delivering more complex, tailored energy solutions for customers.
This position plays an integral role in achieving CS Energy’s revenue diversification aspirations by fostering meaningful relationships with CS Energy’s customers, understanding their energy needs and assisting to develop structured and adjacent products that may provide added value to those customers.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan pipeline to achieve sales and identify key clients to work with on complex, tailored energy solutions which may include energy services (solar, batteries etc.) and flexible pricing mechanisms that provides commercially viable outcomes for both the customer and CS Energy.
- Manage and negotiate large retail electricity agreements within risk management policies and pricing strategic guidance.
- Generate new product and structure arrangement ideas in cross functional teams.
- Monitor and maintain all sales related data to provide across the business and recommend relevant management decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior external stakeholders, customers and prospects.
- Support the forecasting of gross margin and resource planning across the group and company.
- Working with various internal CS Energy teams (trading, finance, legal & retail) to develop products, services and alignment on company communication.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Degree qualifications in Economics, Mathematics, Commerce, Finance or Engineering
- Significant experience in the Energy C&I Market, developing structured product solutions (such as Solar, Batteries, VPP and Demand Response) tailored for specific clients.
- Experience of managing and developing a team with sales related targets.
- Proven ability to manage complex relationships and negotiate effective outcomes in line with the strategic direction of the organisation.
- Experience in the National Electricity Market with a focus on Structured Products and corporate PPA’s.
- Extensive knowledge of the Wholesale and Retail Australian electricity market, including emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated contract negotiation skills culminating in outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline of customer sales from lead generation through to deal closure and contract renewal.
- Preferably have well established contacts within the Queensland Retail and energy sector.
- Experience in pricing and modelling tools such as Gridcog, Gorilla etc., will be highly regarded.
- Contract and common law relevant to energy supply agreements.
