The Role

Koppens require a Site Supervisor to deliver civil construction projects in FNQ. This role will ensure effective quality supervision of onsite construction workers, sourcing quotes and ordering materials. You will work closely with project managers to ensure quality standards meet client expectations. The ideal applicant will have strong industry knowledge and management skills. 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Civil Construction (Supervision) or equivalent.
  • Experience in laying pipelines, drainage, bulk earthworks and subdivisions is highly regarded. 
  • Drive daily production and ensure all resources are used effectively. 
  • Support project quality, WHS and environmental management plans
  • Ensure procedures are implemented to eliminate injury to workers, visitors, the public, as well as to prevent damage to property
  • Assist in the project risk assessments as well as workplace and task hazard id, risk assessments and controls (JSA/SWMS)
  • Lead by example in the identification and rectification of hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts
  • Carry out incident investigations, formal inspections of the workplace and task observations
  • Plan and direct the work in such a manner that the Project Integrated Management Systems Plan and statutory requirements are met or exceeded
  • Ensure that daily pre-start meetings are held in every instance
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and safety discussions as required and in accordance with project meeting schedule
  • Procurement of materials to maintain project program
  • Monitor daily work activities to maximise the utilisation of plant and resources including employees. 
  • Implement improvements with respect to managing site related costs.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Provide leadership and encouragement to all workers to ensure that they comply with established safety rules and practice safe work habits

About You

Due to the nature of our business applicants must be willing to undertake a Pre-employment medical and possess the ability to travel and work in remote locations when required. You will have a strong construction background with the ability to be adaptable and problem solve
