We provide global consultancy advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven experienced Environmental Consultant to join our internationally recognised Environmental Assessment & Management team, from one of our Queensland or Northern Territory offices. 

We are flexible on location for the right candidate, if you are looking to work out of Mackay, Townsville, Cairns or Darwin we’d love to hear from you. 

Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will have 2-3 years + experience in consulting. Regulatory and/or mining experience will be viewed favourably but is not required, with the right attitude and aptitude we will provide you with training and guidance. You will enjoy undertaking project work whilst learning from an experienced team and developing client relationships throughout the region. You will also collaborate on exciting projects and initiatives with the national team and other teams within our multi-disciplinary business.
  Key Responsibilities Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing, facilitating, and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members
• Providing advice regarding best practice environmental impact assessment and management principles to clients and internal SLR team members
• Working within and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors
• Delivering clear and precise, high quality reports
• Occasional travel to undertake field studies
• Technical work across a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to:
  • Environmental impact assessment and permitting for renewables, mining, industrial and infrastructure clients
  • Environmental management plans and compliance audits
  • Mine rehabilitation and closure planning
  • Social impact assessment
  • Regulator engagement
  • Contributing to land use planning assessments, working alongside our statutory planning team.

Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging character with a great sense of humour as well as have:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field
• 2 years + experience in Environmental Science 
• Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects.
• Working knowledge of QLD and or NT environmental legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines
• Experience in the mining, infrastructure, power and/or agribusiness sectors is highly valued but not a prerequisite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
