About the Centre/Service John Street Community Early Childhood Co-op is a not-for-profit centre nestled in the leafy surroundings of Fitzroy. A 57 place centre, John Street has been operational since 1976 and we continue to pride ourselves on our close-knit community and commitment to providing high-quality education and care to all the children at the service. Our team is driven by a shared passion for nurturing young minds and empowering children to reach their full potential.
Work Days of the Role 2-3 days (Flexible)
Hours of Work of the Role Between 20-30 Per Week
Description We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Educational Leader to join our team. The Educational Leader will play a crucial role in collaborating with educators to provide curriculum direction and guidance. Working closely with our team, the successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of an effective educational program within our service. This role requires someone who can support the team in implementing the cycle of planning to enhance programs and practices, ensuring that every child receives the highest standard of care and education, one that is child led, child focused and ensures the voice of the child is heard. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with educators to provide curriculum direction and guidance
- Lead the development and implementation of an effective educational program
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development among staff
- Build strong relationships with children and families
- Advocate for the rights of children through your work as an active participant in the wider sector

- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Teaching OR several years' experience in the sector, holding a similar role

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
