The Global Institutional Banking Coverage (GIBC) team leads the relationship management function of IB&M. Teams of industry and product specialists, work together to deepen client relationships through delivery of products and services across capital raising, transaction banking and risk management.
The Industrials, Transport and Consumer team - within Corporate Client Coverage, is one of industry specific teams within GIBC. The team provides coverage across manufacturing, agriculture, food and beverage processing, logistics and retail clients. We finance and provide risk management solutions to commodities, moveable assets, plant and equipment and finished goods for our domestic and international customers.
Do work that matters:
You will be responsible for relationship management of our existing clients within the sub-sector and origination of new clients and opportunities, with a focus on Industrials, Food Beverage and Agri and multi-nationals, in collaboration with our offshore teams. Clients will include global and large regional, food processors, MNC's and industrials. You will also assist in the development and execution of the sub-sector strategy in close collaboration with industry sector colleagues in Australia, Asia, Europe and the US. You will work with Australian headquartered clients, or the Australian subsidiaries of multinational clients across their capital raising, commodity risk management, trade financing, transactional banking, capital raising and risk management/global markets' needs.
Responsibilities include but not limited to;
- Developing and implementing the client strategy
- Originating new business opportunities from existing and new clients within the sector, with a focus on Industrials, Food, and Beverage increase market penetration for all local banking needs and develop client engagement strategy
- Developing senior relationships using innovation and insight to propose corporate finance, working capital, risk management and transaction banking solutions.
- Driving access to other sources of debt capital for clients via IB&M's capital markets and distribution capabilities.
- Identify sustainability, and carbon markets opportunities.
- Work with product and credit teams to develop CBA product capability in order to originate new to bank transactions.
- Optimise risk and returns across the relevant portfolio, managing risk appetite across products and markets.
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
- Strong banking or corporate finance experience with a track record of originating, leading and executing transactions across a broad range of capabilities including, trade and commodity finance and risk management, balance sheet lending and leasing, global markets risk management and sustainable finance.
- Client relationships and demonstrated experience across the targeted sectors, and across border.
- Experience in engaging and building credibility and strong relationships with clients at Treasurer/ CFO level
- Experience in preparing exceptional client pitches and presentations
- Successful track record of leveraging effective relationships to deliver against revenue and profit targets
- Appropriate knowledge of the risk management requirements of the sub-sector and of a major financial institution
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration and negotiation skills
