Economist (Analyst / Senior Analyst / Manager)

You are passionate about micro-economics, game theory and econometrics and their application to the real world. This can be to forecast demand or to develop commercial strategies through anticipating reactions of persons and companies to market movements. You also have an interest in how the economics of infrastructure assets and transport decisions unfold and how the levers decision makers have can be depicted through economic and financial models.
In your role you will apply your passion and analytical skills to solve our clients’ problems and provide them with innovative insights. In doing so, you will work alongside our experienced talent and industry-recognised experts.

You have experience in conducting economic modelling or research and have a passion for solving problems using economic concepts. You are likely possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in economics. From your previous professional experience, you have developed strong analytical and modelling skills and in-depth knowledge of one or more advanced analytical software tools. You have the ability to write technical reports which explain complex ideas using straight-forward language.
How you will spend your time
In this role, most of your time will be spent:
- Developing analytical and modelling concepts and methods.
- Leading economic analysis, forecasting and other data analysis.
- Conveying complex issues in both written and verbal form including the preparation of reports, correspondence, graphical and statistical information, and presentations.
- Liaising and consulting with clients and other stakeholders in relation to engagement matters and the acquisition of data/information.
- Leading and contributing to high quality project proposals and liaising with colleagues and project partners to develop fit for purpose project methodologies.
- Actively ensure that team outputs satisfy NineSquared’s standards for accuracy and timeliness based on quality principles and methodologies.
- Managing the professional and personal development of staff within the NineSquared team including training needs analysis, succession planning, networking and external linkages, performance appraisal and development to ensure a workforce that is motivated and possesses contemporary skills.
- Applying and ensuring compliance with contemporary human resource management practice and principles including workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and antidiscrimination requirements.
