Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads Medical Clinic is a highly respected General Practice serving the community on the Bellarine Peninsula since 1976. The practice is owned and operated by local doctors who are committed to providing high-quality medical care for regular patients and the many visitors who come to our region. We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to join the caring and professional team of doctors, nurses, and administration staff, and to support the effective delivery of healthcare to our local community.

Our Ideal Candidate 

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced practice manager who is personable, professional, highly organised and experienced in leading teams to success. You understand the complexities of operating a private practice successfully, and can demonstrate a high level of organisational skills, exceptional communication skills, and know that a cohesive organisational culture is key to a high performing team. 

Overview of responsibilities  

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following activities: 

• Lead planning activities across the practice 
• Monitor and report on progress of planning objectives 
• Facilitate effective communication with internal and external stakeholders 
• Management and oversight of business and financial matters in collaboration with practice advisors 
• Report regularly on the business’ financial position and activity to the Directors 
• Build a capable, loyal, and patient-focussed team, leading by example 
• Train and develop staff to help realise potential, individually and as a team 
• Oversee the efficient use of digital resources and systems to support the delivery of safe and high-quality care and service to patients, in a professional and timely manner 
• Develop and train staff in the use of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure workflows are efficient and effective
• Ensure the practice and its team are thoroughly prepared for its ongoing accreditation cycle, and lead the team through the process of being assessed for accreditation 
• Develop and implement an annual marketing plan, monitoring the progress of the plan and reporting on its outcomes to the Directors 
• Ensure the practice is safe and welcoming for all those attending, including patients, families, employees, doctors and Directors 
• Identify, report on and manage both business and clinical risks, ensuring the practice meets its professional, legal, and WHS obligations. 

Qualifications & Experience 

We are seeking a practice manager with proven experience in leading teams and managing the complexities of private practice. Experience in a GP or other primary care environment is ideal, but not essential.
