Our client, a preeminent global advisory firm, is seeking a highly experienced and driven professional to join their team based in Sydney, Australia. This role presents a unique opportunity for an accomplished individual with a strong background in the financial sponsors sector, particularly Private Equity and Family Offices, to play a pivotal role in M&A transactions.

Role Overview:

As an Associate Director in M&A Advisory, you will be responsible for leading the execution of M&A transactions, originating new deals, and managing client relationships within the Australian financial sponsors sector. You will collaborate closely with senior executives and other team members to drive business development efforts and provide strategic advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and integration processes.
  • Originate and develop new business opportunities within the financial sponsors sector, focusing on Private Equity and Family Offices.
  • Manage client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses, build complex financial models, and prepare transaction documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally to leverage the firm’s network and expertise in delivering comprehensive solutions to clients.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, or related fields, with a significant focus on the Financial Sponsors/Private Equity sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully executing M&A transactions.
  • Strong business development skills and experience in originating new deals.
  • Exceptional financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and global environment.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CFA, MBA, or equivalent will be highly regarded.
