Our client is one of Australia’s leading commercial real estate debt and investment specialists. They focus on providing investment management and loan origination services to superannuation funds, sovereign wealth funds and institutional investors, as well as to high-net-worth individuals and family offices across the globe.
They are seeking an experienced ang high-performing individual to join their Risk Team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Credit, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert property and credit risk advice for debt funded loans written by the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the investment teams on credit proposals;
- Provide timely transaction structuring guidance and set out required risk mitigants for all project, counterparty and repayment risks;
- Critically review ITS and IM content and provide support and/or commercial recommendations required;
- Work with key stakeholders to opine and advise upon the suitability of proposed security structures to the credit/property risks assessed;
- Provide expert credit and property risk advice and detailed transaction analysis to the IC;
- Support the Head of Credit to deliver portfolio risk assessments which monitor for stress, and report on quality and key compliance risks;
- Assist in identifying specific at-risk or potential exposures and develop solutions;
- Provide credit / asset risk insights to assist in the management of stressed exposures; AND
- Report to the Risk Committee and Audit & Compliance Committee on portfolio health and key risks.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a similar credit related role within Financial Services or Commercial Property (Banks, Financial Institutions, development, Private Investment Firms / Groups or related profession);
- Excellent commercial property finance acumen;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability;
- Ability to articulate and persuasively present critical arguments;
- Desire and willingness to strive to achieve optimal results;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; AND
- Creative flair and innovative mindset.
