The Company
A market leading PV engineering firm providing contract services to some of the most prolific solar EPCs in Australia and globally. The company has recently expanded operations into New Zealand with plans to commence work on projects in the US. Scope of works varies from DC side system design, tender submissions to grid connection approvals. The firm has provided input on stand alone projects through to multi site rollouts, from rooftop C&I installations to multi megawatt solar farms.
The company currently is a small, close knit, dedicated team with a focus on collaboration and cooperation. Input from colleagues is given and sought on decisions from budgeting to strategy.
The Role
The Utility Scale Project Engineer role is a hands on function crucial to the smooth day to day operation of the business. It will be primarily focused on DC system design and site arrangement in the 5MW – 400MW space, incorporating input from a variety of sub contractors, civil engineering through to owners engineers.
Far from being a desktop only position, this is client liaison heavy role and involvement in meetings, workshops and calls regarding project alignment – 30%, 80%, IFC, etc, will be required.
Review and approval of engineering scopes and delegation to engineering teams, raising variations with clients, budget management, time management across multiple projects and providing a steady flow of updates to clients and team members on the progress of projects will all be key functions of the role.
The Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned and experienced PV Project Engineer with several years experience working on utility scale projects for a solar EPC or engineering consultancy in Australia with full working rights.
CEC Accreditation and a thorough understanding of Australian standards is a must, chartered engineering accreditations would be favourable. This is a PVCase, AUtoCAD and Excel heavy role and these will be used everyday, exposure to AutoLISP would be favourable.
Open, collaborative, culture with support and input from colleagues is a feature of the work environment. Exposure to management and strategy decisions, with a pathway to management available for the right candidate.
