Primary purpose of the role:

The role is responsible for developing and delivering road, bridge or traffic infrastructure and/or maintenance projects in order to achieve road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives.

Key responsibilities:

1. Manage project and delivery process including the delivery of direct control and contract works to ensure nominated road, bridge or traffic infrastructure and/or maintenance projects are developed and delivered to agreed time, cost, quality and scope requirements.
2. Manage the investigation and design process by developing project briefs and cost estimates, procuring and overseeing service providers, monitoring and reviewing ongoing work programs to make effective use of resources and deliver agreed objectives.
3. Prepare contract documents for bridge and road works projects, including technical specifications to engage, administer and deliver contract works and ensure efficient project delivery.
4. Implement effective cost management systems to ensure efficient financial management of projects.
5. Implement appropriate procedures, guidelines, processes and practices, to deliver a high level of workplace health and safety and environmental management on projects and contracts.

Required skills & Experience:

Demonstrated qualifications in Engineering (Electrical/Civil) with additional experience in managing a direct control workforce to successfully undertake construction & maintenance projects.
Knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment & techniques used in road, bridge & other related traffic infrastructure construction & maintenance.
Demonstrated experience in the preparation of competitive & accurate estimates, job programs, project delivery briefs & WHS management plans.
Must possess a current & valid Australian driver’s license and construction white card.
Experience with tenders & contract management requirements.
