Central Systems (Centrals), a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly listed Resource Development Group Limited (RDG), is a leading Western Australian based multi-disciplined contractor providing a complete suite of construction services to the industrial and resource sectors comprising of Civil, SMP and NPI disciplines. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Take full responsibility of the company assets, liaise with the onsite Project Managers and other senior members of the project teams. Supervise and be hands on working with a small team of fitters and maintenance personnel to ensure the company owned equipment is well maintained and in good working order.
Ensure that parts requisitions are produced to allow parts to be ordered in a timely manner using a “hands on” approach and the yard is kept in a tidy and well organised and clean appearance.
DUTIES, STATEMENT & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Allocate & ensure works are completed timely and to a standard on company owned equipment.
- Oversee the cleanliness of the yard and maintain in a well organised manner.
- Ensure that work is done in a safe manner and that Safety is talked about and observed by all employees.
- Ensure you lead and allocate work on specific items of equipment, in line with the priority of the item of equipment required onsite.
- Ability to produce a list of work that is required on each machine, with assistance from the fitters.
- Produce the requisitions for parts for the workshop requirements, in advance of when they are required.
- Be responsible for the time keeping and productivity of your team.
- The ability to supervise people and provide sound leadership and direction to the team.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment is always maintained and apply continuous improvement.
- Be safety and process-focused and willing to improve the processes in place.
- Identify areas where suitable improvements, innovations and cost solutions can be made.
- Ensure the overall appearance of company equipment is maintained to ensure the presentation of all equipment to the highest standard, including signage.
- Supervise and coordinate any 3rd party specialist providers engaged to carry out repairs to company equipment.
- Use Pronto to ensure all plant and equipment records are maintained including location, operating data (hours/km), service history, etc.
- Progress all requests for plant and equipment as approved for project requirements.
- Work with company Asset Manager and project team to arrange transport of plant and equipment being delivered to various sites.
- Ensure you comply with internal reporting requirements including HSE, payroll, financial, production and submitting reports as requested by senior management.
- Issue plant and equipment status reports to Assets Manager weekly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the company owned equipment is well maintained being vehicles, plant and equipment.
- Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is always used by your team.
- Ensure your team hold the valid/appropriate licenses and qualifications for their roles being carried out.
- Comply with all company HSE requirements.
- Conduct regular and thorough workplace inspections and audits of all plant and equipment. Do not send an item of equipment to site unless it is fully repaired and suitable to be passed out onsite and be put to work.
- Work closely with the Asset Manager to implement and follow all required commitments, plans and schedule to ensure the item of plant arrives onsite when required or the committed date.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years industry experience in a similar role
- Experience using Pronto
- High attention to detail.
- Preferably relevant trade qualifications i.e. Heavy Diesel Fitting/Automotive Industry Related
- Construction Industry Awareness Card
- Recommended – First Aid Certificate
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong technical skills in vehicle and mobile plant maintenance & repair
- High level of communications skills with people at all levels of the business
- Able to Work Autonomously
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug screen
- Have sound Negotiating Skills and able to set and achieve targets for or customers
