Due to an internal promotion, Ventia are seeking a Safety Advisor to join their team working across the Smart Link Alliance contract. The position is a full-time permanent role working across a rotating roster out of our Pyrmont office.

The Safety Advisor is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and governance of SHEQ programs, processes and systems into the project whilst driving consistency in line with business and client requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the implementation of Safety Management Plans across the project
  • Ensuring risk assessment and risk registers are developed and maintained
  • Ensuring that the Ventia “Critical Risk Protocols” are embedded in the project
  • Reviewing and seeking improvements to SHEQ through personal example and behaviors
  • Promoting the participation of all people in achieving a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment
  • Seeking to meet TfNSW Specification quality requirements
  • Supporting supervisors in conducting toolbox talks and safety shares
  • Undertaking SWMS and risk assessments on complex construction tasks

About You

  • Ability to work a rotating roster (2 weeks day shift, followed by 2 weeks night shift)
  • Previous experience in the construction industry
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety
  • Current first aid certificate
