APG WORKFORCE are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Officer located in Laverton.

Our client is a well-known poultry manufacturer that provide quality & ready to eat poultry products to Australian supermarkets and food chain stores.

The Role

  • Monday to Friday, Occasional Saturday/OT
  • Shift hours are 3am to 11.30am (After Training has been completed)
  • Need to be flexible to change start time if needed due to production needs (reasonable time notice will be given)
  • Immediate start role with the potential for permanency after a successful trial period.
  • Casual but full time hours Monday to Friday

Duties of the role:

  • Maintenance and improvements of Quality System
  • Conducting internal audits.
  • Preparation and participation in external audits.
  • Performing verification of monitoring activities during production.
  • Verification of completed daily paperwork.
  • Prepare all samples for lab testing.
  • Analysis of lab results.
  • Data entry, filing and reporting activities.
  • Collecting product samples.
  • Performing the duties of an internal audit.
  • Product evaluation including fresh and frozen product.
  • Food Technology degree/qualification will be highly regarded.

Essential:

  • MUST have direct food related/hands-on experience in FMCG
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to make quick and correct decisions “on the job”.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to arrive at and implement long term preventive actions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to achieve departmental targets (meet Baiada guidelines).
  • Able to work a flexible roster, including weekends.
  • Experience in quality assurance within a food related discipline required (Poultry highly regarded)
  • Food Science/Microbiological background an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience working in and industry with HACCP Food Safety/Risk Management ISO systems will be highly regarded;
