The role of Disability Services SeniorClinician is a senior member within the Disability Services team responsiblefor providing evidence based best practice, clinical services, and advice. TheDisability Services Team will provide a statewide operation; therefore, you maybe required to travel to regional correctional centres across the state toengage with staff, stakeholders and prisoners, provide support to correctionalcentres and attend training opportunities. The Disability Services SeniorClinician will be pivotal in supporting the Disability Services Team deliver onQCS outcomes to improve the assessment and identification of prisoners with adisability.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:
Clinical/Technical Expertise:
- Administer appropriate assessments to complexprisoners related to their possible disability, which may pertain to cognitiveassessments, adaptive functioning assessments or those to understandbehavioural needs.
- Analyse and interpret specialist disabilityassessment results to inform case management of complex prisoners includingcomplex behavioural support plans (where appropriate) and to support access tothe NDIS.
- Facilitate the development of critical thinking andclinical decision-making skills in relation to prisoners with a disability, includingthe ability to exercise professional judgement in solving problems and managingcomplex situations.
- Deliver mentoring and peer supervision, participatein triaging cases and support the onboarding of Disability Services Clinicians.
- Support collaborative partnerships with relevantinternal and external and stakeholders, including Offender Development Teams,Queensland Health and the NDIA.
Qualificationsand Registration:
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in areas ofAllied Health (i.e., Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology), HumanServices Behavioural Sciences or related qualification is a mandatoryrequirement of the role.
- Possession of post graduate qualifications (orsignificant progress towards post graduate qualifications) in the relevant areawill be highly regarded.
- Where relevant to an applicant’s individualdiscipline full registration or the ability to obtain full registration withthe Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or equivalent is highlyregarded.
- The incumbent will be required to travel onofficial business and the possession of a C class licence will be mandatory.
