About the Role

We're currently on the lookout for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our clients evolving DevOps team. This pivotal role involves enabling stream-aligned teams by defining patterns and standards, building capabilities through mentoring and pairing, and establishing core platform capabilities, automations, and key tooling. As their product architecture transitions to a cloud-native environment, you will play a key role in defining appropriate patterns and enabling operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve the end-to-end Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through tooling, automation, and optimisation.
  • Consult with development teams to understand impacts and benefits of optimisations.
  • Implement pragmatic solutions that reduce dependencies and support long-term adoption.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Review and provide feedback on tools, frameworks, and development practices.
  • Contribute to Architecture Review meetings focusing on automation and platform capabilities.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and reference architecture.
  • Share knowledge through sessions, mentoring, and pair-programming.
  • Foster an environment that embraces the DevOps mindset.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, enabling others to resolve issues and extend platform capabilities.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like AWS CloudWatch, DataDog, Splunk.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (C#, SQL, PowerShell).
  • Experience with the Microsoft stack (.Net, MS SQL).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy).
  • Experience with IaC and configuration management tools (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Awareness of infrastructure and application security best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment.
