Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates, and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 40,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 470 people with an additional 1,600 contractors working on our assets.

Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.

About the Opportunity 

As the Applications Support Analyst you will assist with the operation, maintenance, design, and enhancement of the Gas Billing application and other related applications. 

Your key objectives will be to manage, monitor and enhance the gas billing system, ensuring service availability, reliability, and overall integrity of the application. You will undertake application enhancements, produce functional & technical designs, perform application testing, and facilitate the transition of technical changes into the production environment.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction by delivering quality systems and facilitating required change management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document business requirements through effective consultation and collaboration.
  • Drive the resolution of billing-related technical issues, liaising between AGIG's IT teams, Billing System Vendor, and the Billing and Gas Accounting Team.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report technical and market compliance issues relating to DBP's Gas Billing System, including the SCADA interface.
  • Assist the Gas Accounting and Billing Manager with verification and reporting of Billing System data, configuration, analysis, and testing.
  • Build an understanding of business processes, focusing on how the Gas Accounting and Billing application supports these processes.
  • Program application components based on functional and technical requirements.
  • Ensure the design of Gas Billing and related applications are aligned with best practices.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the AGIG application lifecycle management framework, ensuring it meets AGIG standards.
  • Drive the delivery and performance of services provided by the application vendor.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate product performance, proactively championing improvements.
  • Perform routine health checks on Gas Billing and related applications.
  • Collaborate with other IT Services teams to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery of services to business stakeholders.

About You

  • Seven+ years of IT experience, with a minimum of five years in application maintenance, design, and enhancement (Utilities sector experience preferred).
  • Good understanding of application lifecycle frameworks and service delivery governance.
  • Ability to manage deliverables, identify issues, risks, and dependencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical, functional, and operational requirements.
  • Strong Excel, SQL, and VBA skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a technology-related discipline or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology, including SDLC, Software Package Integration, the IT industry, multiple products, systems, and relevant functional groups.
  • Good understanding of ITIL practices, IT operations, and ITSM tools.
