The Data Analyst will exercise strong attention to detail and sound initiative and judgement when setting priorities and managing work tasks. They will be required to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to respond to ad-hoc data requests and to provide information on issues relating to data capture and management, data quality and analysis.

The role:

  • Collaborate with Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) staff in the development or modification of business processes utilizing Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) client information system and other internal systems, ensuring required information is recorded and can be reported on.
  • Develop and maintain accurate indicator reports and data visualization dashboards to support Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) operations and strategic planning, including monitoring and providing advice to Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) management on results and trends in the data.
  • Utilise SQL and R programming and R programming language Microsoft Power Bi to obtain and present CHaPS client data for analysis.
  • Update CHaPS indicators for Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) Management and the Department of Health (DoH) within agreed timeframes to meet CHaPS reporting obligations.
  • Extract data requested by other parities from the Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) client information system, and other key systems, within agreed timeframes and consolidate into appropriate report formats, ensuring that approval processes are followed for data requests submitted by external parties.

Details of Appointment

Multiple Permanent, full time and part time, day worker positions working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary: $104,756 to $118,730 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) or significant relevant experience in:
  • Analytics platforms & data visualization software, in particular
  • Microsoft Power Bi (Desktop & Report Builder) and R programming language
  • Relational database management systems, in particular SQL Server Management
  • Programming and statistical evaluation
  • Extracting, validating and cleansing data from multiple sources
