About the role...

You strongly influence technical direction across the breadth of the Data Domain, as a technical leader of committed to delivering high quality, compliant, commercial, scalable, and secure solutions to drive the business forward. You are dynamic, forward-thinking and comfortable getting into detail.

You will be a senior technical leader within the Technology Architecture team within the Chief Information Office. The Information Office operates a platform model which is flexible, open, and scalable, enabling delivery of simple, competitive, and effortless technology experiences to our customers. We collaborate with platform teams across the Information Office including Customer and Enterprise, Banking and Engineering Platforms, Enterprise Data, and Enterprise Delivery.

You will work with our key technology systems that provide an end-to-end service lifecycle for customers and ecosystem partners to interact with Great Southern Bank.

As the Domain Architect, Data on a day-to-day basis you will work closely with the Enterprise Data function. Enterprise Data enables Great Southern Bank's business units in making timely data-driven decisions. The team is responsible for growing and maintaining the bank's Enterprise Data Warehouse, Reporting and Analytics systems to deliver accurate, timely information and insights to the Customer Office, Finance, Treasury, Risk, Regulatory and Operational divisions of the bank.

You will be a key member of the Enterprise Architecture guild to ensure alignment with the enterprise architecture blueprint and standards.

About you...

  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in IT.
  • 7+ years' experience in an Architecture role (ideally in banking), data warehousing/ business intelligence solutions.
  • Deep industry expertise in data platforms, data technology and data management.
  • Experience in designing and building data and analytics solutions on AWS and Databricks is essential (e.g. Redshift, EMR, Glue, Kinesis, Delta Lake).
  • Solid understanding of Data Modelling processes and concepts and application integration architecture.
  • Possess ability to produce conceptual, logical and physical data models using data modelling techniques such as Data Vault, Kimball, 3NF, etc.
  • Expertise with data security rules, along with adept understanding of data classification, data integration and data ingestion guidelines.
  • Experience in Data Lake, Data warehousing and Big Data processing.
  • Exposure to IT Operations management processes and needs.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders - internal and external partners.
  • Broad understanding of technology infrastructure, network, databases and applications, technical solutions, and the ability to understand interdependencies in the architecture.
  • Good insight of Risk identification, Risk mitigation and management.
  • Insight of Banking and Finance sector regulations and compliances.
  • Experience providing technical leadership for engineers in-house or from partner teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, consultative and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively across internal functional areas, as well as with external parties.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously, complete on schedule and within budget.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline, and/or at least 7 years professional experience within Information Technology ideally in the financial services industry across business or divisions.
  • TOGAF/ AWS certifications desirable.
