We are currently looking to engage passionate and enthusiastic individuals of all ages, genders, and backgrounds who want to embark on a rewarding journey as an Apprentice Electrical Fitter.
Komatsu Underground will support you as you undertake four years of nationally recognised training, completing your Cert III – Engineering (Electrical), while being paid to perfect your skills in our state-of-the-art workshops.
You will gain hands-on experience in Electrical fitting, equipment maintenance, rebuilds, and equipment assembly, as well as having access to a range of other learning and development opportunities to support your career both personally and professionally.
As an Apprentice Electrical Fitter, You will learn how to:- Assemble, Fit and repair electrical machine componentry on a range of Komatsu Underground mining equipment including Miners, Longwalls, Roof Supports and Shuttle cars.
- Troubleshoot and fault find across both AC and DC Circuitry.
- Work with single and three phase low voltage machines, terminate cables and cords and connect electrical circuits.
- Read machine schematics and detailed equipment drawings.
- Implement and follow comprehensive safety processes and quality control measures.
- Gain units towards a certificate in Business, Verification of competencies on a range of hand tools and units in public speaking and Leadership.
- A genuine interest and passion for all things Electrical.
- A willingness to learn and a strong attention to detail.
- Driver's License and access to your own reliable transport to and from site.
- An interest in the Komatsu Underground business and our cool equipment.
- A commitment to fulfilling and successfully passing all practical and theory-based study requirements of your Apprenticeship.
