The role

Challenge Community Services is currently looking for a dedicated and passionate full-time Operations Manager to join our Accommodation team working between Camden and Unanderra.

The Operations Manager - Accommodation is responsible for leading and managing the effective and efficient operation of a portfolio of accommodation services with clients receiving or eligible to receive NDIS SIL funding or similar funding.

The role also focusses on creating and maintaining a highly performing team culture, is sensitive to, and promotes, cultural diversity and acceptance, while ensuring the services adheres to the principles and objectives of the Disability Service Standards (DSS) and another appropriate legislative requirements.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in Disability or related field; demonstrated ability to lead culturally diverse teams; experience managing budgets
  • Certificates: Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or related field; Current First Aid Certificate
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of disability sector, including NDIS funding and SIL submissions; ability to work autonomously with excellent time management; strong communication, organization, and negotiation skills; proficiency in systems management (databases, Microsoft Office)
  • Requirements: Valid Working with Children's Check, NDIS Workers Screener check, and National Police Check; unencumbered Australian Driver's License and Australian Working Rights
  • Bonus: Qualification and/or relevant experience in leadership; proficiency in interpreting and implementing the NDIS efficient price model; proven experience with person-centered service delivery

Desirable Criteria:

Having a degree in Social Science, Health, or a relatable field is an excellent foundation. Have you had the opportunity to participate in the establishment of new services or navigate complex changes? we would love to hear about it. Additionally, if you have experience in providing operational support and mentorship to team leaders, that would also be a benefit
