The Placement Director role involves establishing and maintaining close relationships with Steadfast Network brokers, to understand their complex risk placement needs. Candidates must have a strong understanding of available market capacity and how to structure insurance placements i.e. primary, excess, co-insurance lines or 100% placements as appropriate across all insurance products. Understanding pricing and rating in line with specific risks, is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of the team of wholesale placing brokers.
- Responsible for renewing, generating, and placing new business from the Steadfast Network Brokers
- Responsible for placement of all types of insurance risks (including Property, Liability, PI, D&O, and other miscellaneous classes) into the various insurance markets SP use including Local, Singapore and London.
- Expected to be available to travel interstate and or to NZ, Singapore or London as required.
- Expected to attend market seminars and functions and build and develop relationships with Insurers.
- Required to speak to Steadfast Brokers and Insurers about the risks they are placing, update them regularly and provide written communication regarding the risk placement.
- Maintain placement records.
- Attend team meetings, Steadfast Convention & Expo’s.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years insurance placement/corporate broking.
- Tier 1 Compliant
- Must have sound understanding of multi classes of insurance including Property and Liability and Financial Lines
- Must have a sound understanding of the local and international insurance market.
- Must have strong understanding of various placement structures for complex and high value risks.
- Must have strong local insurance relationships with a willingness to continue development of same
- Outstanding presentation and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly organised and attention to detail
- Ability to be proactive in a team environment
