SURA Technology Risk has a new opportunity for a Cyber & Technology Underwriter in a hybrid capacity to join our busy team in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane to work closely with other Cyber & Technology underwriters to underwrite IT risks and quote & bind accounts, as well as build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including security, brokers, business partners and colleagues.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

• Underwrite and price accounts in accordance with the respective underwriting guidelines, delegated authority and personal underwriting authority.
• Communication of upcoming deadlines with brokers and ensuring accounts are booked into the system promptly.
• Issuing policy documents and endorsements.
• Contribution to new business growth objectives by developing new broker relationships, in relation to insurance.
• Being an active contributor to the success of the Company by assisting in areas of development including strategic planning, policy and procedure & promotion of SURA Technology Risks in the market.
• Ensuring all service is provided in a fair and ethical manner and compliant with all relevant legislation, regulations, codes and Company policies and procedures.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and experience in order to successfully perform in the role:

• 1 – 2 years underwriting experience, within the cyber & technology space.
• Tier 2 General Insurance Compliance General & Personal Advice.
• Willing to work towards Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of the legal / legislative environment in which the insurance industry operates.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and claims procedures.
