Job Description

The Opportunity

Based in the inner city, we have an opportunity for a Housekeeper / Cleaner to join our teamon a part-time, permanent basis, working 5 hours / day, Tuesday to Friday, between 9am to 5pm.

The position is responsible for working collaboratively to deliver high quality food preparation and housekeeping services across our programs, while providing a safe and positive environment for our clients.

The position is classified as a Social and Community Services Employee Level 2, Pay Point 1 to 4 ($32.26 to $35.19 per hour) under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award. The pay point offered to the successful candidate will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with:

  • A Certificate in Food Safety (essential) and a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high standards of cleaning and hygiene.
  • Previous experience in the preparation of meals.
  • Good organisational skills, particularly related to time management including the ability to prioritise, be flexible and accomplish set tasks.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with a wide range of people, together with the ability to adhere to professional boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to respond sensitively to the needs of women affected by homelessness.
