We are currently searching for a full time Kitchen Storeperson to ensure that all goods received by the Kitchen area are verified ensuring quality control, stock rotation and food safety requirements. The role assists the Chefs in planning of stock requirements for service and assists with the costings of stock used by each Event.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Receive all kitchen goods and verify against orders
• Ensure Food safety requirements at all times
• Log all high risk food items and temperatures per procedures
• Ensure quality control of all high risk food items
• Maintain and ensure fridges, freezers and storerooms are hygienically clean 
• Ensure stock rotation is maintained according to our food safety program
• Co-ordinate standard stock par-levels
• Ensure that the stock is organised according to the function briefs
• Allocating stock items to an event through electronic purchasing/stock system  monitoring and maintaining stock movements to help establish optimum stock levels by product.
• Assist purchasing co-ordinator with ordering, covering in the absences and annual leave
• Monthly Stocktake of all foods and consumables

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills, knowledge, personal attributes and experience:

• A good understanding of food products
• Sound knowledge of stock rotation
• Sound knowledge of correct storage of food products
• Sound knowledge of commercial kitchen processes
• Enthusiasm, energy and a positive disposition
• The ability to handle and complete multiple tasks, prioritise and delegate, while maintaining a calm and efficient demeanour
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal skills and the ability to work well unsupervised
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal with strong attention to detail
• Administration and Computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite
