Digital Product Owner

Our Product Owners have delivered digital products that meet the needs of users. They are responsible for the product development process and managing a delivery team. They work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders to gather features, groom and prioritise the backlog, schedule releases and coordinate sprints and reporting. They have experience in delivering digital solutions and understand agile methodology.
Who we are
The Digital Business Division (DBD) has been established to bring together the retail digital functions from the Digital Trade Initiatives, Biosecurity Digital Reform Branch along with the Digital and Analytics Office within the Agricultural Trade Group. The purpose is to create a range of efficiencies in delivering best in class digital and data products. The division is responsible for a suite of mission-critical systems and services. Incorporating the Taking Farmers to Market (TFTM) and the Simplified Targeting and Enhanced Processing System (STEPS) programs. The division’s purpose is to deliver the important digital business and service reforms for the Department. DBD is at the forefront of bringing about large-scale change to our agricultural export systems and bio-security cargo clearance systems, using the experience of our customers and stakeholders through digital transformation. Digital and data offers compelling opportunities for transformation, allowing us to explore and rethink the way we build and deliver services. This ground-breaking work will have a significant impact as we deliver on the many services that will benefit the nation.
The Digital Clearance Service (DCS) Branch modernises and sustains digital export services by future-proofing current and emerging systems. DCS supports the movement of agricultural exports by ensuring our export services are highly available, monitored and maintained. We deliver user focused efficiencies through self-service capabilities and enhanced services.
Within the Digital Clearance Service Branch, we are designing a streamlined digital export traceability system to support overseas market access for exports of agricultural products. Working closely with business we are transitioning to a new digital system for the issuing of export permits and certificates.

Knowledge and experience
Eligibility
Citizenship - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry you must be an Australian citizen.
Security Clearance - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
Pre-employment Check - Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.
MSIC and ASIC Licences – If the position requires unescorted access within an aviation or maritime security zone, you will be required to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) or Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
