THE OPPORTUNITY
As a dedicated Site Manager, your primary goal is to oversee and lead the seamless delivery of new build projects in the retail and educational sectors, ensuring compliance with quality, timelines, health and safety, and labour regulations. Your role extends to managing preliminary stages within the assigned budget, making you a pivotal player in our dynamic team.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Site Manager, your key accountabilities include:
- Ensuring the safety of individual employees and subcontractors, implementing and maintaining safe work procedures in accordance with regulations.
- Taking corrective action to eliminate or control environmental hazards and unsafe work practices.
- Ensuring work is in compliance with current codes, standards, operation manuals, and specifications.
- Directing and managing on-site employees, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to the Project Manager and Contract Administrator.
- Understanding trade scope of works and subcontractor responsibilities to prevent unforeseen costs.
- Participating in program and site coordination meetings, and liaising with external authorities to maintain positive relationships.
- Proven experience in a similar role, complemented by relevant tertiary qualifications in Building, Construction, or Engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of head contracts, subcontracting, and familiarity with Procore is advantageous.
- Strong people management skills, with a preference for team building and effective delegation.
- Negotiation skills, quality focus, and the ability to assess and manage risks.
- Willingness to question, manage conflicts appropriately, and facilitate change.
- Exceptional time management, planning, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft packages.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport effortlessly.
