Quality Assurance & Control (Construction)

The Project Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution and delivery of oil and gas refinery and pipeline projects by maintaining high-quality standards, minimizing risks, and enhancing client satisfaction. 

  • Implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System
  • Manage the qualification of welding, NDT and coating procedures, operators and applicators, ensuring appropriate personnel supervise activities.
  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures and Inspection and Test Plans for all construction activities, including site preparation, excavation, concrete work, structural steel erection, piping installation, and equipment assembly.
  • Manage team field inspection to ensure coverage and implementation of Project Plans, Procedures, Specifications and ITPs.
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors based on their capabilities, experience, and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of construction-related documentation, including inspection reports, test results, certifications, and as-built drawings.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews of construction quality processes, procedures, and performance indicators. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance project quality and efficiency
  • Ensure that all construction activities are conducted in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. 
  • Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and third-party inspectors to address quality-related concerns, provide project updates, and ensure alignment with client expectations. Respond promptly to client inquiries, requests for information (RFIs), and requests for corrective action (RCAs)
  • Management of the QA/QC requirements for commissioning.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the Project handover and MDR compilation process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering or science related subject.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction quality management roles within the oil and gas industry, with specific experience in refinery and pipeline projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction quality management systems, standards, and methodologies, including ISO 9001, ASME, AS 2885, DNV ST-F101 and API Q1.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and materials used in oil and gas facilities, including refineries and pipelines.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing construction activities in the oil and gas industry, including, API standards, and AS building codes.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) is desirable.
  • Ability to travel to project sites to work a 3 and 1 roster in challenging environments.
