This Regional Health and Hospital is a unique cross-border public health service and the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne. We support an outer catchment population of 250,000 throughout North-East VIC and Southern NSW, with a dedicated team of over 2,500 staff. They are a dynamic organisation undergoing significant growth, with plans for new Emergency and Mental Health facilities underway.

Surrounded by a rural landscape which brings with it a range of tourist activities including their wine region, Fine Food trails and historic areas. As a regional Hospital, there are no concerns about deskilling in a specialty area. There is an extensive case mix with ample opportunities for maintaining procedural skills, such as, intubation, chest tubes, procedural sedations and joint relocations.

The hospital is supported by a wide range of subspecialties. Within medicine these include general medicine, respiratory, infectious diseases, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, haematology and oncology. The surgical department includes general surgery, orthopaedics, ENT, maxillofacial and paediatric surgery. Other specialties include paediatrics, psychiatry, ophthalmology and obstetrics/gynaecology/Emergency.

Trainees are supported with close working relationships with intensive care and anaesthetics for critical presentations. They provide a relaxed and information packed 4 hour weekly teaching program.
