Development Team Leader: Shape the Future of Sustainable Technology

Are you ready to make a significant impact through technology while being part of an innovative and collaborative team? Avani is seeking a Development Team Leader to join our dynamic Perth-based development team. 

This role offers a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in the design and development of our diverse range of projects, whilst contributing to the ongoing enhancement of our quality assurance practices.

As a lead, you will still be very hands on with design and development, but you'll also lead and build your team to explore new ways to identify and reduce resource expenditure including carbon emissions, energy, water and human labour.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Development Team Leader, you will:

  • Lead and build a team of developers.
  • Contribute to design sessions.
  • Build decoupled, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by sharing knowledge and working closely with fellow team members.
  • Apply engineering methodologies to solve intricate challenges effectively.

You'll flourish in an environment that's not only fun and friendly but also highly motivated, where collaborative work and knowledge sharing are deeply ingrained. Your natural curiosity and intuition will be invaluable in problem-solving and innovating for the future of Avani and our clients.

Your Skills and Experience

  • At least 10 years in a software development role.
  • Experience in a team lead or senior engineering position.
  • Deep understanding of software development life cycles and a passion for design.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft technology stack including C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, T-SQL, and Entity Framework.
  • Hands-on approach to development and implementation.
  • Familiarity with modern design patterns and a willingness to learn Azure technologies.
  • Experience with Azure, particularly Azure Functions and Container Apps, is highly favourable.
