We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to join our team, primarily based at our head office in Hawthorn East however travel to sites will be required as part of the role. As the HSEQ Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our teams across multiple projects.
About the Role
Your initial responsibilities will include:
- Implementing daily HSEQ policies and procedures to ensure safety compliance on sites, aligning with ISO certifications and industry standards.
- Proactively identifying and managing HSEQ risks and hazards, ensuring prompt action and resolution to keep our teams safe.
- Conducting thorough HSEQ audits and site inspections, working closely with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain high safety standards.
- Keeping meticulous records of HSEQ activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Investigating incidents and unsafe conditions, promoting a culture of reporting and continuous improvement.
- Providing training programs and support for employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to work safely.
- Monitoring and measuring HSEQ performance, offering valuable insights for enhancing safety practices.
- Delivering clear and concise HSEQ reports to senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
- Collaborating with external auditors to coordinate ISO accreditation audits effectively.
- Ensuring compliance with the Chain of Responsibility Plan for our fleet under Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) regulations.
- Adapt to evolving organisational needs, taking on additional tasks as required.
About you
To be considered for this role the successful applicant must have:
- Demonstrated understanding of HSEQ risks and compliance within the civil industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to engage and motivate teams
- An ability to build positive relationships with clients, workers, suppliers, and subcontractors to promote a safety-first culture.
- Tertiary qualification Cert IV Work Health and Safety or similar preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Willingness to travel to all Goldsmith projects primarily across Victoria with overnight stays required depending on location.
- Valid working rights in Australia
