Job Description

Join our team as a full-time Speech Pathologist in Bellerive, Tasmania. Working within a person and family-centred approach with an interdisciplinary team, the Speech Pathologist focuses on a person’s communication, social skills and feeding abilities in the home, school, work and wider community.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Manage a clinical caseload of clients in accordance with service provision guidelines and/or external agency requirements.
  • Provide speech pathology assessments, intervention and evaluation to allocated caseload
  • Provide individual and group speech pathology services in the areas of communication, social skills development and feeding.
  • Provide an integrated and holistic service to the client through positive and effective liaisons with all interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide assessment and training for the use of assistive and augmentation communication for children and adults with alternative communication methods.
  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent.
  • Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) as approved by Speech Pathology Australia
  • Ability to manage a case load of clients, consistently meeting service delivery objectives and timeframes.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Be highly autonomous and confident in decision making.
  • Ability to implement person and family-centred interventions.
  • Strong administration and organisation skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate a personal commitment to the organisation's philosophy, objectives and mission.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Hold or be willing to obtain National Police Clearance and Working with Vulnerable People Check (NDIS endorsed).
  • Sound knowledge of current philosophy, legislation, standards and policies relating to disability in both the state and national arena.
  • Understanding of the Disability and Community Sectors, in particular knowledge related to disability client directed care and the application of person-centred practices.
  • Understanding of funding models, specifically the NDIS.
