Offshore Safety Advisor

  • Offshore - Victoria (Marlin Platform)
  • Indicative Assignment Length: Up to 12 Months Contract
  • Roster: 14/14

REPSONSIBILITIES:

  • The position takes guidance from the Producing and Decommissioning Asset leadership teams and reports directly to the SSHE Safety & OIMS Supervisor.
  • The incumbent is responsible for conducting themselves to the standards set of company Standards of Business Conduct - Policies and Guidelines.
  • Facilitate planning for high participative asset safety meetings with safety leaders: people are engaged.
  • Maintain minimum required competencies mapped in the Field Safety Advisor training roadmap.
  • Provide exit briefs of activity and findings to asset leads to highlight opportunities for safety improvements and reinforce positives.
  • Provide day to day direction and oversight of Offshore Safety Advisors.
  • Support and guidance for HSRs and safety promoters
  • Assist asset leads to maintain their asset specific Safety Plans
  • Sharing of safety experiences across assets;
    • Investigations
    • Action Items
    • OIMS compliance
    • Safety Bulletins communications, eg HiPOs
  • Periodical involvement in investigations and safety initiatives as required by the business.
  • OIMS systems validations – permits, JSA, IFR
  • Conduct In Field Reviews as planned and coach others.
  • Attend quarterly OHSAC meeting
  • As arranged from time to time, attend the Heliport to provide safety support.
  • As arranged from time to time, attend the Offshore supervisor crew change meeting.
  • Assist Asset leads in the use of IMPACT incident database.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Demonstrated work experience in construction safety-related positions (including some prior oil & gas experience)
  • In depth knowledge of security processes and procedures
  • Proficient in use of computers and programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Microsoft Office
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English, as required to function effectively within a project team
  • Willingness to travel / live away from home for extended time periods
  • Demonstrated ability (through past project successes) to deliver excellence in project SSHE performance
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful internal and external working relationships with emphasis on interfacing in a team environment
  • Must be fit for duty for a construction field environment (examples include uneven, unpaved walking surfaces, large structures that are accessible only via ladders or stairs, standing for extended time periods, climbing, bending, walking, reaching, and other physical demands)
