Polaris Marine Group stands at the forefront of the Australian marine industry, boasting over 35 years of operational excellence. Our continuous expansion includes a diverse range of services such as marine infrastructure and asset maintenance, bridge and wharf construction, piling, sheet piling, and crane barge hire. While our headquarters are situated in Rozelle, our operations span across Australia and extend beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee financial management and reporting for all portfolio companies.
  • Develop and review annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
  • Provide monthly variance analysis to budgets and forecasts.
  • Present accurate financial results and insights to the CEO and senior stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with external accountants and lawyers on all tax matters to ensure compliance with financial, tax and other obligations.
  • Conduct research and analysis for potential investment opportunities.
  • Prepare individual and consolidated accounts across several entities.

Operational Excellence:

  • Implement ERP platform across three entities, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and drive effectiveness.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction to ensure efficient business operation on financial aspects.
  • Set financial goals and priorities, establishing performance measures for progress tracking.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion and diversification in existing and new markets.

Team Development:

  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, initiative, and accountability.
  • Manage and motivate a finance team of ten (10) employees.

Requirements:

  • At least seven (7) years of finance experience in a commercial environment, with two (2) years in a similar leadership role.
  • Finance degree with further qualification, either a CPA or CA.
  • Experience working with medium-sized businesses.
  • Advanced skills in Xero and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional skills in utilising ERP platforms such as Microsoft Business Central.
