About Us.

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH) Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the South East Qld Region.

About the Role?

As the Speech Pathology Clinic Lead, you will provide culturally appropriate services as part of a multi- disciplinary team. Our Speech Pathology services are provided within a system of care that walks alongside clients in their health journey. Additionally, the role provides clinical supervision to ensure professional development of the IUIH Speech Pathology Team.

What does it look like to be a Clinic Lead? 

  • Work collaboratively within an interprofessional team of health care professionals including: Occupational Therapists, Physios, EPs, Paed Nurses, GPs, AHWs, Paediatricians, and more. As a collaborative team we work together to provide client-centred care.
  • Provide ongoing professional clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring of Speech Pathologist staff.
  • Provide in-service education in areas relevant to speech pathology service provision as required
  • Opportunities to contribute to continuing innovative health service development.
  • Commitment to the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current QLD Drivers Licence
  • Current Blue Card and Disability Worker Screening Check (must have prior to commencement)
  • Current Criminal History Check
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Current Speech Pathology Australia Membership
  • Relevant degree in Speech Pathology
