We’re proud to be the primary partner to a number of tier 1 construction businesses around Australia. One of our long terms clients has exclusively engaged North Lane to source an experienced Electrical Manager for their QLD business. Our client is a leading national diversified contractor delivering a range of SMP-style construction, maintenance and shutdown works for blue chip clients across the resources and oil & gas sectors.

Based out of Mackay and holding the businesses electrical contracting license, this role will see you manage the businesses established internal electrical function. Managing your resources and supporting projects, the electrical function is a supplier to internal major projects and does not currently self execute external projects. You’ll be the electrical SME when interfacing with Tier 1 mining and oil & gas clients, supporting working winning and scope development whilst managing a team of experienced tradespeople.

What can you expect:

  • Oversee and lead an existing team of proven electricians and high voltage electricians
  • Assist with project start up activities including procurement, people and equipment
  • Support of work winning activities through design review and providing feedback into overall construction methodologies
  • Participate in end of month contract valuation reviews
  • Support project delivery teams through resource management and providing input and advice as required
  • Manage existing client relationships looking to further promote the business and build on previous project delivery success
  • Ensuring overall project compliance to the business safety, quality and environmental plans
Your background
  • Previous experience within a leadership role with the ability to manage multiple project teams;
  • Electrical engineering or trade qualifications; Electrical contractor license is required;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a range of internal customers and external suppliers;
  • Proven communicator who can lead and influence
Great people skills and the ability to build trust is a must backed by strong communications skills.
