Principal Project Officer

I'm looking for a Principal Project Officer for a government department to plan, prioritise, and deliver infrastructure capital and maintenance programs/projects.

This is a 12 month contract.

Our ideal candidate will have a high-level understanding of contemporary project management, asset management, and facilities management practices, along with the ability to develop, implement, and manage complex projects, preferably in a building or facilities infrastructure context.

To be considered for this role you must experience in:

  • Maintaining strong relationships with the team, key stakeholders, and service providers
  • Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Contemporary project management, asset management, and facilities management practices or at least a high-level understanding
  • Working independently and contributing positively to a team environment, demonstrating highly developed communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Developing, implementing, and managing complex projects, preferably in a building/facilities infrastructure context

You Will

  • Support their capital and maintenance program delivery by developing and coordinating a range of financial and business processes, including transaction processing, project and funding reconciliations, project closure, and asset capture reporting
  • Play a lead role in developing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing asset lifecycle condition assessments, including supporting the Manager, Infrastructure, and key internal stakeholders to maintain workplace health and safety and disaster management planning processes
  • Support the development and delivery of specific programs of work associated with the upgrade, renewal, and compliance of the state-wide training infrastructure
  • Manage and report on current and emerging program risks, including risks associated with the level of legislative compliance of the state-wide training infrastructure
  • Prepare high-quality written documentation, including senior executive briefings, government submissions, and proposals that satisfy program governance reporting requirements
  • Play a leading role in researching, developing, implementing, maintaining, and reviewing physical infrastructure asset management activities associated with the future direction of training infrastructure in Queensland and provide advice on recommended courses of action
  • Contribute to providing sustainable social infrastructure solutions through the development, coordination, and review of funding submissions and master planning activities
  • Support a wide range of investigation, analysis, and evaluation of infrastructure management strategies that promote maximum outcomes
