Job Summary:

PSG are seeking a Financial Accountant with strong knowledge of Australia reporting standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in public practice or Audit and be either a qualified or part-qualified Chartered Accountant. This role will be instrumental in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing the function.

Responsibilities:

• Recordkeeping and Financial Statements: Maintaining accurate general ledgers, accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial statements like balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, assess financial risks, and create reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies (if applicable).
• Month-End and Year-End Close: Overseeing the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensuring adherence to internal accounting controls and external regulations. This may involve tasks like account reconciliations and tax preparation.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and resource allocation.
• Working Capital Management: Monitoring and managing working capital (current assets and liabilities) to ensure smooth cash flow.
• Liaison with Other Departments: Collaborating with other departments (e.g., sales, operations) to gather and share financial information.

Qualifications:

• CA/ CPA Qualified or studying towards
• 3-5 years experience in a similar role, with strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and spreadsheet programs (Excel).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various teams.
