Planner / Senior Planner

This favorable civil contractor is a leading contractor who work within resources, local authorities and main roads projects across Queensland. Led by a team of highly skilled professionals within the industry, this contractors focus is predominantly on roads and bridges and have delivered a number of other successful projects both locally and across the state.
With a number of major civil projects valued anywhere between $50M - $800M around South East Queensland, they are currently looking to secure a Planner or Senior Planner with an Engineering or relevant construction background for a major Gold Coast TMR project. Managing and supporting the project team with planning, scheduling, and setting up the planning system to manage and track construction activities, critical construction milestones, and labour/equipment resources. This will be a challenging role that will demand previous experience working across large scale infrastructure projects & be competent in Primavera P6.
Reporting into the Planning Manager your duties will include but not be limited to;
- Plan the overall construction and operation large scale civil engineering projects by maintaining a project schedule which monitors project progress
- Liaise with project team to discuss the project progress and address any issues
- Update, detail and maintain the Master Schedule in Primavera P6 taking into account the contract requirements and overall project strategy
- Liaise with external stakeholders to develop and maintain construction project schedules in line with the client & site requirements
- Support the project team with the preparation of reports and presentations of progress to the clients
- Perform delay analysis, prepare extension of time claims and assist in the preparation of expert reports
This is a highly rewarding role where you will be a part of the project controls & planning team from start to finish of the project. To be successful you must have at least 5 + years’ project planning / scheduling experience across civil or heavy construction projects and a proven track record of being able to deliver results on major projects. This individual must be focused, ability to multi-task, a good team player with a highly analytical approach and strong attention to detail. Strong communication skills and good understanding of project management and construction methodologies. Experienced in Primavera & P6.
