At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Design, develop and deploy solutions and hands-on software development,working closely with leads, product managers and stakeholders to enable marketing and transactional messaging with reliable and compliant integrations.
  • Work collaboratively and coordinate with leads, product managers, and engineers across teams at Canva to unblock back-end works that help your group launch new integrations with privacy in mind.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and optimally advocate for engineering needs to non-technical team members within the group. Ensuring engineering quality and mentoring engineers in the team.
  • Model initiative and ownership in achieving goals, and improving processes and solutions.
  • Find opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new insights and improvements that help achieve our goals.
  • We exercise privacy by design principles; our users' privacy is our priority.

You're probably a match if

  • You are comfortable coding in Java at a Senior level with 5+ years ofexperience.
  • You have commercial experience developing complex, scalable and data-heavy applications
  • You have exposure to broadcast ordering API integration patterns
  • You knowemail deliverability principles and protocols
  • You have strong Computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns.

About the team

We’re seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join the Marketing Infrastructure team. Our team plays a key role in marketing and transactional and marketing messaging with our mission to engage with our customers with the right message at the right time. This role will directly support our messaging strategy with compliance in mind.
