The opportunity
In this role, you will work closely with the regional and global communication function teams, supporting Thiess’ Australia East business. You will build relationships and collaborate across the business to deliver high-value, timely, factual and effective internal and external communication and marketing that helps achieve business objectives.
About the role
As aCommunication Specialistat Thiess, your primary responsibility is to plan and implement corporate communication and marketing strategies for the company. You will be involved in both strategic and tactical marcomms activities across the Australia East business, including leader communications, with a focus on high quality advertising campaigns, speeches, collateral, digital content, video productions, presentations and other materials. Within this, you will stay updated on communication, marketing and industry trends. By doing so, you can effectively protect and enhance Thiess' reputation and brand position with key stakeholders and target audiences. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of employee engagement activities, provide clear design briefs to the design team, review communication design execution and identify opportunities for content and media promotion.
Additionally, you will:
- craft stories that simplify corporate and technical complexity, and resonate with target audiences
- plan, execute and optimise marketing campaigns informed by data, trends and insights
- Develop strategic messaging for brand and service positioning
- monitor, analyse and measure marketing outcomes, including development of metrics to identify most effective tactics and tools to improve campaign effectiveness
- bring creative and proven ideas that enhance existing communication processes, systems and channels
- drive continuous improvement and best practice.
About you
You will have completed a Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or related discipline or have gained extensive relevant industry experience.
Additionally, you have:
- experience collaborating with key stakeholders to develop meaningful and impactful corporate communication to support business objectives.
- the ability grasp technically complex topics and subject matters to produce engaging and effective communications
- skills in prioritising the needs of multiple stakeholders, and maintaining a high-level of accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving
- experience in working with social media and content management systems, including able to learn and leverage tools and technologies for maximum communication impact
- enthusiasm to learn, take on new challenges, be a team player, reliable and committed to excellence.
