Ortech Industries is an Australian owned company established in 1985, which manufactures Durra Panel, Durra Steel Sections and Durra Panelised Building Systems at its production facility located in Bendigo Victoria.Our vision is to be the leading manufacturer of the world’s most sustainablebuilding material and to see it used extensively across the globe.About The RoleWe are currently seeking a dynamic, hands-on and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team and play a pivotal role in our production operations.Responsibilities• Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands, optimise resource utilisation, and ensure timely delivery of products.
• Team Management: Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of production staff, including production supervisors, operators, and technicians, to ensure efficient and safe production processes.
• Quality Control: Establish and maintain quality control procedures to guarantee that products meet the highest standards, and oversee inspection and testing processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate production processes & SOPs, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative strategies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and optimise production efficiency.
• Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, including labour, and equipment expenses, to achieve cost-effective production while maintaining product quality.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and promote a safe working environment by implementing best practices and providing appropriate training.
• Supply Chain Collaboration: Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, maintain optimum inventory levels, and manage supplier relationships effectively.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor production performance, analyse key metrics, and generate reports to assess productivity, identify bottlenecks, and propose actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.Qualifications• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of production planning, quality control, and process improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the manufacturing sector.
• Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
