Glencore Mount Isa Mines has an exciting opportunity for a Safety Advisor to join our Smelting and Processing HSEC team. This position will directly report to the Senior Safety Advisor. If you are looking to participate in the ongoing success of a complex and productive mineral processing operation, then don’t let this opportunity pass you by. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa and will work 5/2, 4/3 (9-day fortnight) roster. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing practical support which includes but is not limited to:

• Working closely with front line personnel and leadership teams to plan and implement proactive safety and risk improvement measures.
• Facilitating risk assessment and conducting quality observations to enhance risk assessments used in the filed including SLAM’s and JSEA’s
• Promoting awareness and monitoring compliance to the safety management systems and processes
• Facilitating incident investigations using the ICAM methodology
• Provide support to the operational area and HSEC team with strong customer service to provide proactive solutions and to facilitate effective health and safety management and a positive safety culture.
• Safety performance reporting, auditing and trend analysis

The requirements for this position are:

• Tertiary Safety qualifications (minimum – Diploma) & Risk Management qualifications are highly desirable.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Commitment to improving health and safety outcomes.
• Highly effective communicator through all levels of the business
