The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

As Biodiversity Advisor – Approvals, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Biodiversity Advisor to:

  • Mitigate program, approval and compliance risks across Transgrid projects
  • Facilitate assessment and approval consistency across projects
  • Provide specialist biodiversity advice, including for EIS biodiversity assessments
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including communities, government entities and Traditional Owners on biodiversity assessments

Skills & Experience  

To be successful in the role you will have:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in ecology, environmental science, or a related field and/or extensive relevant work experience.
  • Working / intermediate knowledge of the NSW Biodiversity Offset Scheme (BOS) under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and it’s implementation.
  • Technical background / experience in biodiversity survey.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of geographic information systems.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to self-manage, work under pressure and work in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work away from home (within NSW).
  • Experience delivering biodiversity impact assessments in New South Wales.
  • Experience in the preparation of Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports.
  • Experience engaging with a range of stakeholders regarding biodiversity assessment and related issues.
  • BAM assessor accreditation.
