The Platform Product Manager (PPM)for MPET will m anageand develop products or services through their full life cycle from inception,growth, maturity, decline to retirement. The PPM willalso oversee the organisation’s product and services portfolio and thedelivery of customer value and/or user satisfaction over time. The PPM willalso create the product life cycle management framework for internal andexternal customers and users and champion the importance and value of productmanagement principles and appropriate product development models. The PPM willalign the product management objectives with business objectives and authorisethe selection and planning of all product management activities. The PPM will initiatethe creation of new products and services and identify how developing newproducts or adapting existing products can lead to new opportunities.
We areseeking an experienced MuleSoft Platform Product Manager to join our team. You will have a proven track record of successfully deliveringenterprise scale Integration/API Platforms from conception to launch and massadoption. The roles and responsibilities for the PPM include,but are not limited to the following:
- Primary responsibility of defining,implementing and governing an API First strategy for the Division in apragmatic way given existing application architectures.
- Defines the vision, strategy and roadmapfor the MuleSoft Platform
- As a self-managing and proactive MuleSoftPlatform Product Manager you are responsible for engaging customers todefine desirable, viable, feasible, and sustainable solutions that meetcustomer needs and support the development of these across the full productlife cycle.
- Accountable for defining and managesMuleSoft Platform Epics and Features in Azure DevOps (ADO) through thePlatforms Feature funnel/Kanban delivery board, ensuring they meet theDefinition of Accepted, Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
- Coordinates cross-branch initiatives toensure the MuleSoft Platform capabilities align with the broader Aged CareTransformation Program goals.
- Evaluates the completeness of MuleSoftPlatform Features implemented through the ART backlog and accepts them ifconsidered complete.
- Supports the ongoing development andmaintenance of the MuleSoft Platform Architectural Runway required tosupport the Platform backlog.
- Responsible for guiding and supporting 2Product Owners within the following 2 scrum teams, providing them withaccurate business context and receiving feedback on the feasibility ofFeature implementation:
- MuleSoft Platform scrum team
- Business to Government (B2G) scrum team
- Advocate for and implementation of bestpractices in API management and governance.
- Drives the adoption of new Features throughcomprehensive change management and training programs.
- Ensures the Platform enables solutions tobe delivered in a consistent, repeatable and reusable way consistent withthe objectives of the Aged Care Transformation Program.
- Continuously evaluates existing andemerging software and services for potential inclusion/exclusion withinthe Platform.
- Establishes and maintains relationshipswith vendors of Platform software and services, ensuring software andservices are right-sized, adequately provisioned in budgets, and licensingcontinuity is maintained.
- Preserves the integrity and security of thePlatform, ensuring development is consistent with the policies, models,patterns, specifications of the Platform as a whole-of-governmentsolution.
- Defines and tracks key metrics to measurePlatform performance and success and use data-driven insights to iterateand improve products over time.
- Serves as an API and Integration Platformsubject matter expert on the MuleSoft Platform, providing guidance andsupport to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborates frequently with MuleSoftProduct Owners, Architects and Platforms Release Train Engineer (RTE) toguide the Agile Release Train (ART) toward successful delivery.
- Plays a significant role in ART events e.g.PI Planning, Inspect and Adapt activities and PI System Demos, activelyimparting knowledge, collecting feedback, and addressing product-relatedissues. They may also participate as Business Owners, approving PIObjectives, assessing business value, and managing risks.
- Reports into the Overall Platforms ProductManager for the branch.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a ProductManager or similar role with demonstrated ability in strategic planningand execution within a large-scale IT transformation program.
- Successful track record of implementing anAPI first approach to delivery and a deep understanding of the full APIlifecycle.
- Solid understanding of how to pragmaticallyintroduce an API business layer into an existing SaaS 2 Tier applicationarchitecture.
- Deep understanding and experience indelivering Integration Platforms using SaaS products (Ideally MuleSoftand/or API Platforms)
- Deep understanding and experience indelivering and managing APIs that will be consumed by 3rd parties. Thisincludes discovery and management via an API portal (Ideally API CommunityManager)
- Successful track record of deliveringIntegration Platforms and products in accordance with Agile methodologies,ideally SAFe.
- Expert at managing competing prioritiesagainst the available capacity of multiple multi–disciplinary teammembers.
- Excellent communication and negotiationskills with internal stakeholders including executive.
- Demonstrated experience creating acollaborative, innovative and efficient working culture.
- Demonstrated experience of deliveringDigital Platforms (As opposed to delivering projects/applications onPlatforms)
Passion fortechnology and innovation in the API realm, with a customer-centric mindset anda commitment to delivering exceptional user experiences.
- SAFe Certifications and/or experienceworking in a SAFe or similar environments
- Product Owner certification
- Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps,Microsoft TFS, Jira or Miro to manage project delivery
- Active participation in relevantprofessional bodies or technology groups.
