The Strengthening Providers Branch is seeking an experienced legal policy officer to design and implement effective aged care regulatory policy to improve the quality, safety, and integrity of the aged care system.

The successful candidate will support the leadership of a small collaborative team to contribute to reforms to benefit older Australians using aged care services in the key areas of consumer protection, provider governance, workforce regulation and support for the aged care system regulator.

Our efforts are focussed on improving the quality of care that older people receive within the aged care system. We work in an exciting area of reform and continuous improvement where we can see the direct effect that our work has on outcomes for older people and aged care providers.

The successful candidate will develop and shape policy advice to Government, provide complex legal policy advice on legislative amendments, and support in delivering high priority government commitments. They will also build and leverage collaborative relationships across the Ageing and Aged Care Group, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) (the Regulator), aged care peak bodies and state and territory governments to develop opportunities for regulatory alignment across the national care and support sector.

A Merit list will be created to fill these roles and will be considered for future roles in the Branch.
