The role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be required to undertake overhead and underground distribution design projects. Your technical background will allow you to drive engineering solutions whilst developing and gaining exposure to complex and cutting-edge technologies in a business with a pure focus on power and energy. 

Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of relevant Standards for the design and supply of line designs and equipment at voltages up to and including 66kV
  • Preparation of designs arranging the layout of equipment for outdoor, semi-indoor, and indoor Zone Substations to meet the required Australian Standards
  • Project management of distribution design works undertaken demonstrating planning, time management, communication, reporting, and financial control
  • Preparation of detailed design on substation, street lighting, underground and overhead designs up to 66KV will be highly regarded
  • Computer literacy skills are sufficient to operate common word processing, spreadsheet, AutoCAD, and customer information systems

Requirements

  • An Electrical Engineering Degree, Diploma/Advanced Diploma, or Electrical trade qualifications 
  • 2+ years of electrical design experience (applicants with senior experience will be offered packages according to their skill level)
  • Detailed design experience in electrical utility networks projects including distributed loads, generators, solar, batteries & grid connections 
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of AS3000 and other electrical technical design standards 
  • Knowledge and skills in the use of the required computer systems and applications 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong organisational and work ethic skills
